Consent Advocates & Relationship Educators (CARE)

Consent Advocates & Relationship Educators (CARE) Tutors partner with the College Title IX Office, in collaboration with the Office for Community Support, Non-Discrimination, Rights and Responsibilities (CSNDR)'s confidential SHARE Team, to foster residential communities grounded in respect, care, and gender equity.  CARE Tutors are a resource for all students in their House, whether they are looking to learn more about healthy relationships and consent, explore available campus resources, seek guidance on supporting a friend, or share ideas for community programming. CARE Tutors design educational programming, outreach initiatives, and opportunities for community engagement that promote healthy relationships, consent, gender equity, and violence prevention within their Houses.

About Harvard College's Title IX Resource Coordinators: 

These people can be a starting point for undergraduate students impacted in any way by sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct – including gender-based harassment (based on actual or perceived sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity), dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.  College Title IX (CTIX) aims to promote a Harvard College community free of sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct, to educate our community members about policy and Title IX compliance and help students make the most informed decisions possible about their safety and well-being. CTIX Resource Coordinators partner with students to navigate resources; explore supportive measures; and share information about the formal complaint process. 

Students could reach out to a CTIX Resource Coordinator if: 

-They’ve personally experienced harm and are not sure what supports or resources are available. 

-They’re supporting a friend or loved one who has been impacted. 

-Students want to talk through a hypothetical or uncertain situation with a private resource. 

-They’re unsure if what happened to them or someone else was a violation of policy. 

-They’re worried they may have crossed a boundary or caused harm and are not sure what supports are available. 

Bringing a concern to the attention of a CTIX Resource Coordinator does not automatically launch a formal complaint or investigation. Information shared with a College Title IX Resource Coordinator is treated with the utmost privacy.
