I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and in Computer Science, and an affiliate of the Harvard Center of Mathematical Sciences and Applications. I teach Economics 1071 aka CS 37, which is a course on how incentives give rise to many seemingly strange social phenomena around us, and what we might want to keep in mind about that when we set policy or build online platforms. Research-wise, I am interested in both economic theory and theoretical computer science, and in particular I explore computer-science-inspired economics: I aim to harness approaches, aesthetics, and techniques traditionally originating in computer science to derive economically meaningful insights; this is also the topic of an advanced PhD course that I teach, which is also cross listed between Economics and Computer Science. I am also professionally trained as an opera singer, having a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in classical singing, and having performed professionally with some of the leading orchestras in Israel, which is where I'm originally from. Before deciding to go full-time into academia during my PhD, I was also a Software Engineer at Google.
