Ernest E. Monrad Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures
I am very pleased to be joining Lowell House, with its long association with Russia because of the bells. I teach in the Slavic Department, Gen Ed, and the Freshman Seminar program, with a focus on translation, poetry, and what I like to call Russia’s strange writers (and, yes, they’re all strange!). I listen to music and books, and also garden, walk, travel, and cook. My scholarship has focused on contemporary poetry in recent years, and I welcome the chance to talk poetry and all else with Lowell residents.
