Olena Bogdan
Hi Lowell! I was born in Ukraine and grew up moving around Europe before eventually making my way to the U.S. I'm now a PhD student in Economics at Harvard, where my research focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation. Before Harvard, I studied at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and Stanford, working at the intersection of economics, math, and machine learning.
Most of my work has revolved around financial systems, technological change, and economic development. I've been lucky to work on a pretty wide range of projects, from digging into historical financial crises to doing fieldwork on technology adoption in developing economies, which has been such a meaningful experience.
Outside of school, I love playing tennis and staying active, and I'm a big cinephile with a soft spot for photography.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever want to chat about studying economics, getting involved in research, thinking about grad school, or just figuring out Harvard in general. I'd love to hear from you!
