I am an earth scientists working on coupled energy and environmental challenges, as well as earthquakes and other natural hazards. I teach both GenEd and EPS/ESE courses, and maintain a research lab funded by company sponsors and federal grants. Lab facilities includes a wicked cool 3D immersive visualization system - a 30ft wide cylindrical screen with dual 4k projectors and active stereo – that students regularly convert into a movie theater or massive gaming system. I own a geotech company with a partner at MIT, and like to spend time in the mountains and offshore.
