John Johnson
Professor of Astronomy
I received my BS in physics from the Missouri University for Science and Technology, and my PhD in astrophysics from UC Berkeley. As a professor of astronomy at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, my research is focused on the detection and characterization of planets around other stars. I am also the director of the Banneker Institute, a summer graduate school preparatory program for undergraduate students of color interested in careers in astronomy.
