Non-Resident Tutor
PhD Candidate in Economics

I’m Jack Hirsch and I study economic theory, the mathematical underpinnings of economics. I enjoy seeking kernels of elegance buried in fields of algebra—although I have yet to find one. I grew up in Oakland California with three dogs and love nothing more than a leisurely hike through redwoods or California poppies. I’m an above average journalist, a below average poet, and a mean cook. I have played tennis for nearly two decades, but when I’m not on the courts, I can be found running, climbing, or playing basketball poorly. I was an active member of Saybrook, my undergraduate residential college, and I’m looking forward to meeting the Lowell community. The lede. Let me know if you want to chat math, economics, Bay Area sports, or how dogs are better than cats.
