Irene Peirano Garrison

Pope Professor of the Latin Language and Literature

I am a Professor in the Classics Department. I teach a wide range of courses in Latin literature (e.g. Catullus, Virgil, Ovid, Martial, Cicero), the Latin language (e.g. Latin syntax and stylistics), comparative antiquities, Classics and literary theory, history of rhetoric and classical reception. I am also interested in the history of education as seen through the rich perspective of Harvard’s own history and archives.
