My two Harvard degrees are in medical radiological physics and radiation biology. After a post-doctoral fellowship in pathology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, I left academia and began my career in investments. I was early in investing in the first generation of internet companies. I was also early in investing in China. Both those decisions turned out well. From the mid-2000s, I focused my venture investments in biotech companies. These have resulted in several new drugs being approved by the FDA. My current work focuses on the use of AI to improve the delivery of healthcare, especially in the primary care setting, in brain health and in behavioral health. I live full-time in Harvard Square but I also spend two months each year in UK where I spent ten years renovating an eighteenth century manor house into an award-winning country hotel. My involvement in undergraduate life at Harvard revolves around supporting entrepreneurship, Christian fellowship and classical music.
