Emma Seevak
I was born in Seattle and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I graduated from Harvard College in December 2020 as a proud Dudley Co-op resident. I studied Sociology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. My main academic focus was mental health and substance use disorders, and I was grateful to receive Harvard funding to conduct research in India, Australia, Mexico, and New York City. I decided to become pre-med in the middle of my junior year while on a semester off in Mexico. Outside of classes, I was involved in Room 13, the First-Year Outdoor Program (FOP), and several community running groups. After graduating, I worked in Seattle as a case manager in permanent supportive housing. Now, I'm a 3rd year medical student at Harvard Medical School. I am passionate about housing justice and global health equity. In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running, backpacking, and cooking with friends. Please reach out if you want to talk about working in social services, pre-med studies as a social sciences/humanities concentrator, affordable post-bacc options, taking time off, or general pre-health advising! I'm happy to meet over a meal, walk or jog along the Charles.
