I write about the 19th and 20th centuries, generally trying to understand the connections between culture, society, and experience. Growing up in Argentina has given me a sense of the resilience of peoples and cultures that manage to outlive the conflict and loss which tend to characterize the subcontinent. I try to convey that in my teaching and writing, as a Latina fortunate enough to earn a living doing what I love to do: think, teach, and write about texts and other art forms. I am delighted to be a part of the Lowell House community.
