Fred Kavli Professor of Astrophysics
I'm passionate about astronomy in general and the search for extrasolar planets in particular. I design and build telescopes to discover and characterize worlds orbiting nearby stars, with the ultimate goal of developing methods to study the atmospheres of these worlds to search for the chemical signatures of life. I would like to help foster a vibrant and inclusive scientific community and I'm interested in contributing to national space policy, combatting racism and sexism in science, and improving science education.
