I am an Italian musicologist, teaching at the Harvard Extension School and a couple of other places. I taught at the University of San Francisco for 25 years, where I created the music program, and am now a Professor Emerita. While I was doing my PhD I was a resident tutor in Quincy, but my son was a Lowellite (AB ‘15). My research now centers around women and opera, but other interests include the Italian renaissance and, of course, Bach. I enjoy traveling, dancing (mostly Cuban Salsa a.k.a. casino—ask me about it), downhill skiing, singing (I am a HRCM, RCS, and UChoir alumna and currently sing in a couple of choirs here), knitting (that’s how I paid my way through college), going to concerts, meeting new people, and speaking in many tongues. Come to Italian table!
