Aldara Carlota Falco de la Cierva

Hi, I'm Aldara! I'm a master's in public policy candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School and a Fulbright scholar from Spain. I have a BSc in Pure Mathematics and a BA in Philosophy. I've always been drawn to the question of equality of opportunity and that led me to do the "Teach for Spain" program, where I spent two years teaching in underserved schools and doing a master's in education. Just before coming to HKS I was working in the favelas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This year I'm also a Teaching Fellow for "Ethics in the Age of AI" with Professor Sandel. Outside the classroom, I'm involved in the European Conference at HKS and founded a student caucus focused on depolarization and bridging political divides.

When I'm not buried in problem sets, you'll probably find me talking to new people, planning a road trip in my camper van, or getting lost in a good Italian novel. I speak Spanish, Catalan, German, English, French, Portuguese and I'm working on my Italian! I'm really excited to be part of the Lowell community and always happy to talk about policy (or politics), math, philosophy, travelling, or life counseling in general.
