I have spent my entire career at Harvard first teaching Slavic Languages and Literatures and subsequently in decanal positions with responsibility for the recruitment of faculty, undergraduate and MBA admissions, and residential student life. (I served as Allston Burr Resident Dean of Eliot House many years ago.) In my free time, I engage in volunteer activities which reflect my commitment to education and individual development and well being. I am also an avid gardener, theater-goer and sports fan.
