Students:

1) When you request a recommendation from your professor, make sure that you've filled out your portion of the "Request for Recommendation" form and include that with your request to your professor so that they can fill out their portion. Request that the professor email us the completed form and the recommendation.

We are only accepting recommendations and waiver forms by email (lowell@fas.harvard.edu). Student records are now fully electronic.

2) When you need that recommendation sent somewhere, fill out the "Access/Mailing Request Form for Filed Recommendations" and send it to us.

Recommenders:

Electronic recommendations must be sent as a pdf to lowell@fas.harvard.edu. They must look like they are on letterhead with a real (not electronic) signature. I.e., if one were to print it out, except for the lack of watermark, one wouldn't know that it had been an electronic recommendation. Do not use digitally-signed pdfs.

If you don't have access to letterhead, it needs to be done in the form of a proper business letter.

Student records are fully digital and we ask you to only send us an electronic copy.
