I am a ‘71 alum of Lowell House and Harvard College (A.B., Magna Cum Laude, Anthropology) and I then received a J. D. from Columbia Law School in 1974. When in Lowell House, I was on the House Committee for two years and was its Chair in 1970-71, at which time we proudly became one of the first Harvard houses to admit women during the so-called “Co-Ed Experiment.”

I had a long, interesting career as a corporate attorney, particularly as General Counsel for several global accounting and law firms, with special expertise in professional and legal ethics issues. Throughout my career, and even more so since my retirement, I have devoted myself to serving on the boards of and acting as pro bono General Counsel for numerous non-profit organizations, especially those focused on equal justice and educational issues.

Closer to Lowell House, I am a member of the board of the Lowell House Opera, having first worked to support its productions years ago when on the House Committee. I also have season tickets to Harvard football and men’s basketball games, primarily so I can – finally -- get better seats than when I was an undergraduate.

I would welcome the chance to discuss with anyone the pros and cons of a legal career and the pros (there are no cons) of serving on worthy non-profit boards and these organizations’ governance issues. Feel free to email me at any time.
